Meet Creanord at Comms Connect Melbourne 2026: Real-Time Visibility for the Future Power Grid

Meet Creanord at Comms Connect Melbourne 2026: Real-Time Visibility for the Future Power Grid

| Date: 14 – 15 October, 2026 | Place: Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre

Utilities are modernising their grids at speed, and more of that grid now runs over private wireless networks. Smart meters, SCADA and telemetry all depend on a transport network that has to deliver five-nines availability. But how do you prove, every day, that it does?

On Wednesday 14 October, Creanord CEO Dr. Claus Still will answer that question at Comms Connect Melbourne 2026, the leading conference for critical communications and public safety professionals in the Southern Hemisphere.

Session details

Title: Powering the Future Power Grid: Real-Time Performance Visibility in a Polish Utility’s 450 MHz Network
Speaker: Dr. Claus Still, CEO, Creanord
Date and time: Wednesday 14 October 2026, 2:45 PM (AEDT)
Venue: Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre

A case study from Poland’s largest energy utility

The session examines PGE’s pioneering private 450 MHz network deployment and the critical role of transport-network performance visibility in mission-critical environments.

Claus will cover:

Dr. Claus Still

  • A vendor-agnostic approach to active monitoring with the TWAMP protocol
  • How Y.1564 Service Activation Testing supports initial network verification and troubleshooting
  • The current state of the art, with deployment and operational recommendations
  • Why continuous service assurance is essential to guarantee five-nines uptime and to confidently manage modern smart grid applications

Why it matters

An outage in a utility’s communications network is never just an IT problem. When the network underneath the grid degrades, the grid feels it. Many of the issues that matter most, such as microbursts, jitter spikes, and transient latency, never show up in averages and disappear before anyone opens a ticket.

Continuous, granular measurement makes those issues visible while there is still time to act. Combined with service activation testing before go-live, it gives operators a verified baseline on day one and confidence that every service still meets its SLA on day 500.
